The Maples Woodland Wedding: A Romantic Spring Day in Woodland, CA

There are some wedding days that feel like they’re pulled straight out of a dream. Anastasia and Roger’s celebration at The Maples Woodland was exactly that. Set in the heart of nature, this venue provided the perfect backdrop for a storybook celebration filled with soft golden light and organic textures.

Just outside, the natural tree-lined pathway created what felt like a tunnel of trees, wrapping everything in shade and texture. It was one of those hidden gems that made the entire venue feel even more magical and cinematic, like something out of a film.

A Magical Ceremony Under the Trees

Their wedding took place in a time we usually imagine with cool breezes and soft spring sunlight. But this day had a surprise. It was hot. It’s like the middle of summer, kind of hot! The kind of heat that makes you question if spring skipped a step.

But if you were there, you would never think it mattered.

Their ceremony at The Maples Woodland felt deeply personal, surrounded by the people who matter most. Laughter echoed through the trees, a few tears were shared, and every word felt genuine and heartfelt. It was one of those ceremonies where you could feel the connection not just between them, but with everyone present.

A newlywed couple walks hand in hand down the aisle during their outdoor wedding ceremony, surrounded by guests and floral arrangements.

The bridal party brought such an incredible energy to the day, not only standing by Anastasia and Roger’s side, but truly showing up with so much love, support, and excitement. From the laughter to the in-between moments, you could feel how much they meant to them. It was the same with their families, who were just as present and full of joy, making every photo feel genuine and full of connection. These were the people who helped shape their story, and it made those moments even more meaningful to capture.

While the romance was front and center, this crowd knew how to celebrate!

Timeless Portraits and Golden Hour

As the sun began to set, we stepped away for a few quiet moments to capture their sunset photos. The golden light gave them a soft, natural backdrop and beautiful, flattering lighting that made the moment feel calm and effortless. It was one of those pauses in the day where everything slowed down, and you could truly feel the connection between them.

An Intimate Reception at The Maples

As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere shifted into something more relaxed and intimate. Guests spent the night simply enjoying the evening, gathering in conversation, sharing laughs, and taking in each moment together. While the pace felt calm, the celebration came alive through meaningful moments like the newlyweds’ first dance, heartfelt dances with their parents, the money dance, and the bouquet toss, each bringing bursts of energy, joy, and connection throughout the night.

That is what weddings are really about. Not perfect weather or perfect timelines, but real connection, real emotion, and celebrating a love that is completely your own.

And when the love is real, nothing else matters.

Planning your own The Maples Woodland wedding or looking for a Bay Area wedding photographer who captures real, emotional, and timeless moments? I would love to connect. http://www.labraphotography.com

Cindy and Wing’s Winter Wedding at Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings in Gilroy CA

The first weekend of January was the perfect way to start the year, celebrating Cindy and Wing at EAGLE RIDGE BY WEDGEWOOD WEDDINGS IN GILROY CA. From the moment Cindy first reached out, I already knew their wedding would be full of joy and genuine moments.

She told me she loved my style, but also mentioned that they were an awkward couple. Honestly, that is exactly our specialty. Couples who feel a little unsure in front of the camera often end up with the most natural, beautiful photos, and Cindy and Wing were no exception.

Their engagement photos

One of my favorite parts of the day was their first look at the bridge area at Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings. The setting was just perfect. It felt quiet, intimate, and gave them a chance to really take in the moment together before everything officially started.

Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings in Gilroy is such a beautiful wedding venue. The views, the layout, and the overall atmosphere made everything feel both elegant and comfortable at the same time. Even though it was the middle of winter, the weather turned out amazing. It was not too cold at all, which made it even better for everyone to just be outside, relax, and enjoy every moment.

Wedding Day at EAGLE RIDGE BY WEDGEWOOD WEDDINGS

Their bridal party photos were full of fun. Some moments were silly, others more relaxed, but everything captured their togetherness—moments they can smile back on and truly cherish. Everyone was so down-to-earth, with no trace of tension, which made the day feel effortless and natural.

You could also tell how much their family and guests truly cared about them. People were fully present, enjoying every moment, and it made the whole day feel even more meaningful. From the ceremony to the celebration later on, everything felt genuine and full of life.

Gilroy Wedding Photography Moments

Cindy and Wing proved that being awkward really just means being real. And that always translates into the best kind of photos. Nothing forced, nothing overly posed, just them being themselves and enjoying their day.

The reception was full of energy from start to finish. There was a lot of great food, fun activities, and moments that kept everyone engaged. You could really feel how much everyone was enjoying the night.

Starting the year with a wedding like this at EAGLE RIDGE BY WEDGEWOOD WEDDINGS IN GILROY CA was an absolute joy, and one I would happily do all over again.

Kayla & Kolten’s Wedding at Moss Denver | A Beautiful Colorado Celebration

Although we are photographers based in California, we absolutely love traveling and experiencing weddings in different places. One of the best parts of what we do is getting to document love stories in new cities and states.

If our couples want us to capture their wedding, even if it means traveling far from home, we are always happy to do it as long as our schedule allows. Being part of such meaningful celebrations is always worth the journey.

Kayla and Kolten’s early spring wedding brought us to beautiful Denver, where they celebrated their day at the unique Moss Denver.

A Unique Indoor Wedding Venue

Located in Denver’s vibrant arts district, Moss Denver is known for its beautiful industrial architecture with exposed rafters, large windows, and stylish interiors that create a warm and modern atmosphere.

Kayla and Kolten’s early spring wedding day was a mix of cold winds and bright sunshine outside, but inside the venue, it felt cozy and inviting. The sunlight filtered beautifully through the large windows, filling the space with a soft natural glow throughout the day.

Even though the celebration took place entirely indoors, Moss Denver created such a stunning environment that the wedding still felt vibrant, intimate, and full of character.

A Joyful Celebration with Family and Friends

Right after the ceremony, the room quickly filled with emotion as family and friends gathered around Kayla and Kolten. You could see the happiness on everyone’s faces as they hugged the newlyweds, some even wiping away joyful tears.

It was one of those beautiful moments where the excitement and love in the room were impossible to miss. Everyone was celebrating, embracing the couple, and sharing in the happiness of the moment.

The wedding details also added so much personality to the celebration. Guests were given adorable teddy bears as keepsakes, a sweet and playful touch that made the day even more memorable.

Sunset Portraits Outside Moss Denver

Before the sun went down, we stepped outside Moss Denver for a few quiet moments with Kayla and Kolten. Even though most of the wedding day took place indoors, we were still able to capture some beautiful bride and groom portraits just before sunset.

Right outside the building was a stunning mural that added so much character and color to their photos. The vibrant artwork, combined with the soft light, created such a unique and beautiful backdrop for their portraits.

It was the perfect opportunity for the newlyweds to step away from the celebration for a few minutes and simply enjoy the moment together before returning to the party.

Vibrant Flowers and a Fun Reception

The reception space was filled with vibrant flowers that brought beautiful color throughout the venue. The floral arrangements added a lively and romantic feel that complemented the industrial character of Moss Denver perfectly.

When it came to food, Kayla and Kolten chose something fun and relaxed for their guests — pizza. It created such a laid-back and joyful atmosphere where everyone could simply enjoy great food, celebrate together, and spend the evening laughing and dancing.

Sometimes the best weddings are the ones that feel the most comfortable and personal, and Kayla and Kolten’s celebration was exactly that.

Traveling for Weddings

Weddings like Kayla and Kolten’s remind us why we love traveling for our work. Every location has its own charm, and every couple brings their own unique story and style to their wedding day.

Although we are San Francisco Bay Area photographers, we are always excited to travel and document weddings wherever our couples need us.

If you are planning a wedding and would love us to capture your day, even if it is outside California, we would be honored to be part of it if we are available.

A Romantic Napa Valley Proposal at Castello di Amorosa | Austin & Sarah

Some proposals feel straight out of a fairytale, and Austin and Sarah’s special moment at Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley was exactly that.

Austin and Sarah traveled all the way from Texas to visit Napa Valley, but Sarah had no idea that the trip would turn into one of the most unforgettable days of their lives.

Austin had been carefully planning the surprise proposal, even coordinating for some of their family members to be present for the big moment.

A Castle Proposal at Castello di Amorosa

The proposal took place on the rooftop terrace of Castello di Amorosa, one of the most breathtaking spots in Napa Valley. Surrounded by the stone walls of the castle and overlooking the vineyards in the distance, the setting felt both intimate and magical.

The venue’s coordinator helped prepare a beautiful setup for the moment. Fresh flowers were thoughtfully arranged along the ground, with a bouquet and a bottle of wine waiting nearby to celebrate the occasion.

As Sarah arrived at the rooftop terrace, their loved ones were nearby, quietly waiting to witness the special moment. With the castle walls around them and the Napa Valley vineyards stretching behind them, Austin got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life.

Of course, Sarah said yes.

Celebrating with Family

One of the most meaningful parts of this proposal was that Austin had arranged for their family members to be there to witness the moment. After the surprise, the celebration quickly turned into hugs, laughter, and happy tears.

Moments like this remind us why proposals are so special to photograph. They are filled with raw emotion, excitement, and the beginning of a brand new chapter.

Engagement Portraits at the Castle

After the proposal and celebration, we spent some time exploring the castle grounds to capture engagement portraits for Austin and Sarah.

The beautiful stone archways, historic walls, and vineyard surroundings made the perfect backdrop to celebrate their engagement.

Castello di Amorosa truly feels like stepping into another world, and it created the perfect setting to document such an unforgettable moment.

Planning a Napa Valley Proposal

Napa Valley offers some of the most romantic locations in California for proposals. From vineyard views to historic estates like Castello di Amorosa, there are countless beautiful places to pop the question.

If you are planning a proposal in Napa Valley or anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, visit www.labraphotography.com to learn more about our photography experience.

We would love to help capture your story.

Family Photos with Kids | Capturing Real Personalities

Family photos with kids are always full of energy, laughter, and sometimes a little bit of chaos. And honestly, that is what makes them so special.

Many parents tell us before a session, “Our kids don’t sit still!” The truth is, children are not meant to sit perfectly still or pose for long periods of time. The best family photos happen when kids are simply allowed to be themselves.

As photographers in the San Francisco Bay Area, we embrace that energy and work with it rather than against it.

Kids Are Meant to Move

Children are naturally curious, playful, and expressive. Instead of forcing stiff poses, we guide families through simple activities that allow kids to interact naturally with their parents and siblings.

Running, laughing, cuddling, and even the silly moments are all part of the story.

Those little bursts of personality are exactly what make family photos meaningful years later.

Capturing Real Personalities

Every child has a unique personality. Some are shy and quiet, while others are adventurous and full of energy.

During our sessions, we create a relaxed environment where kids feel comfortable exploring and being themselves. When children feel safe and happy, their true expressions come out naturally.

Those genuine smiles, curious looks, and playful moments are what make the photos feel real.

Embracing the Chaos

Family sessions with kids are rarely perfectly quiet or controlled, and that is completely okay.

Sometimes the most beautiful images happen in the middle of laughter, running, or even the quiet moments in between when a child reaches for their parent’s hand.

Our approach is simple. We observe, guide gently, and capture the moments as they unfold.

Family Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area offers so many beautiful locations for family photos. From scenic beaches to peaceful parks and open open spaces, the natural scenery creates the perfect backdrop for relaxed family sessions.

Whether your kids are toddlers full of energy or older children with big personalities, every stage of family life deserves to be documented.

Making the Experience Fun

Our goal is to make family photography feel more like a fun outing than a formal photoshoot. When families relax and enjoy their time together, the photos naturally reflect those genuine connections.

Kids may run around, laugh loudly, or get a little silly during the session, and that is perfectly okay. Those are often the moments families treasure the most years later.

Because one day, those little personalities grow up.

A Dream San Francisco Proposal From the Golden Gate Bridge to the Palace of Fine Arts

There is something undeniably cinematic about San Francisco, and Jake and Jenna’s proposal story felt like it was meant to happen here.

Jake first reached out to me about planning a surprise proposal for Jenna. He mentioned that they live in Phoenix and wanted to make their trip to San Francisco truly unforgettable.

About two weeks after receiving his inquiry, something funny happened. I happened to be in Phoenix photographing a wedding, and I remembered Jake’s message. I decided to reach out and asked if he would like to meet in person so we could talk through his proposal plans.

We ended up meeting at a local coffee shop in Phoenix with my husband and photography partner. Sitting together and talking through ideas made everything start to fall into place. From that moment, we knew exactly how the proposal would unfold once they arrived in San Francisco.

The Proposal at Crissy Field

The big day finally arrived in San Francisco. Since Jake and Jenna are from Arizona, they expected the city to be cold and foggy, so they came prepared for chilly weather.

But San Francisco had other plans.

Instead of fog and wind, the city surprised us with beautiful sunshine and clear skies. It turned out to be a perfect day for a proposal.

Jake brought Jenna to a scenic spot at Crissy Field, with incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. As they walked along the waterfront and took in the view, Jake got down on one knee and asked the big question.

Of course, Jenna said yes.

It was such a joyful and emotional moment, and the setting made it feel even more magical.

Engagement Portraits at the Palace of Fine Arts

After the proposal at Crissy Field, we headed over to the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts for more fun portraits celebrating their engagement.

The Palace of Fine Arts is one of the most iconic and busiest locations in San Francisco, and it is always filled with visitors, photographers, and people enjoying the view. But that is where experience makes all the difference.

Over the years, we have photographed countless engagement sessions here, and we have learned exactly where to position couples so the photos feel calm, romantic, and timeless, even when the area is full of activity.

Despite the crowds and the many photographers around, we know the perfect angles and hidden spots that keep the focus exactly where it should be on the couple. Let’s just say it is one of our little secrets that you will discover when you work with us.

Jake and Jenna were able to relax, celebrate their engagement, and enjoy the moment while we captured portraits that felt intimate and beautiful, without showing the busy energy surrounding this famous landmark.

Planning a San Francisco Proposal

San Francisco offers some of the most beautiful locations for a proposal, from the waterfront views at Crissy Field to the timeless architecture of the Palace of Fine Arts. With iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge nearby, the city provides unforgettable scenery for such an important moment.

As San Francisco proposal photographers, we help couples plan the timing and location so the surprise unfolds naturally while every reaction is beautifully documented.

Beautiful Maternity Photography Tips

I had the pleasure of working with Justin and Sky, a wonderful couple eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little one. At 38 weeks pregnant, Sky was still glowing with energy and excitement, making for a relaxed yet stunning maternity photo shoot. We focused on capturing the natural beauty of this special time in their lives, without relying on typical or posed cliches.

Sky wore a casual yet chic outfit—a pair of relaxed jeans and an open shirt that beautifully showcased her baby bump. Every pose was carefully considered to highlight her natural glow while ensuring she felt comfortable and confident.

Logistics and What to Bring to Your Session

Here are a few logistical things to keep in mind:

Props: You can incorporate small props like baby shoes, a sonogram picture, or a cute “coming soon” sign to personalize your photos.

Permit Fees: Some outdoor locations may require permits or fees for professional photo shoots. Always check ahead of time and budget accordingly.

Timing and Duration: A maternity photoshoot usually takes between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the location and how many outfits or looks you want to capture.

Proposing in the Bay Area

Planning a proposal is one of the most exciting moments in a relationship. If you are thinking about proposing in the San Francisco Bay Area, you are choosing one of the most beautiful places in the world to pop the question.

From breathtaking coastal views to iconic landmarks, the Bay Area offers countless romantic locations that make proposals truly unforgettable.

Choosing the Perfect Proposal Location

One of the most important parts of planning your proposal is choosing a location that feels meaningful to you and your partner. It could be somewhere you visited together before, a scenic destination during your trip, or simply a place with an incredible view.

Some of the most popular proposal locations in the Bay Area include:

Golden Gate Bridge
Crissy Field
Palace of Fine Arts
Lombard Street
Muir Woods National Monument
Napa Valley
Sonoma County

Each location offers a unique atmosphere, whether you want sweeping coastal views, forest scenery, or classic San Francisco architecture.

Tips for Planning the Perfect Proposal

When planning a proposal, remember that the moment should feel authentic and meaningful. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind.

Keep it simple.
The most memorable proposals are often the most genuine ones. Focus on the moment and the meaning behind it rather than elaborate setups.

Be yourself.
Speak from the heart. Your partner will remember how the moment felt far more than what was said word-for-word.

Think about timing.
Some locations can get very busy, especially during weekends and summer months. Early mornings and sunset are often the best times for beautiful lighting and fewer crowds.

Have a backup plan.
San Francisco weather can change quickly. Fog, wind, or unexpected crowds can happen, so having a backup location or flexible plan is always helpful.

Capturing the Moment

Many couples choose to hire a photographer to discreetly capture the proposal. Having professional photos allows you to relive the moment and share it with family and friends afterwards.

As Bay Area proposal photographers, we often help couples plan the timing and location so the moment unfolds naturally while every reaction is beautifully documented.

Making the Moment Unforgettable

The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the experience. This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment that marks the beginning of a new chapter together.

Take a deep breath, smile, and ask the question.

Chances are, the answer will be yes.
